Who is a known shipper?
If you wish to tender cargo to a passenger aircraft you need
to have the status of a known shipper.
To qualify for a known shipper you need to
undergo security checks managed by IACs/carriers following TSA standards. The
approval process consists of you, as a shipper, being verified through TSA
database. At some instances a site inspection might be also required which
usually carries a fee. Reoccurring site inspection will be applicable in order
for you to remain the known shipper’s list.
